Visualizing the Future of Healthcare

Agfa HealthCareAgfa HealthCare announces that its theme for UKRC 2016 (6-8 June at the ACC Liverpool, UK) is "Visualizing the Future of Healthcare". The company will showcase how it has used its 100+ years of experience to develop innovative solutions that can shape the future of care delivery in the healthcare organization. This commitment is demonstrated in its comprehensive portfolio of imaging IT and imaging solutions that answer a broad range of needs for healthcare providers of any size.

Enterprise Imaging for Radiology: integrated care to help improveoutcomes
Visitors to UKRC 2016 will discover Agfa HealthCare's Enterprise Imaging platform, which supports value-based care coordination with a broad range of functions that align the enterprise with quality outcomes. Enterprise Imaging for Radiology takes a whole new approach to imaging management, providing a imaging management, reporting, advanced image processing and integration of clinical information, all in one, sophisticated, completely unified platform. Hospitals and users no longer need to deal with a separate radiology or cardiology system, separate vendor-neutral archive (VNA), separate viewer: they can grow the Enterprise Imaging platform to share all images and content, between all involved caregivers from anywhere, including mobile apps.

Agfa HealthCare Enterprise Imaging improves interoperability and enables hospital groups to create and efficiently share unified patient records containing both images and textual information within the EHR.

Empowered hospital, empowered patient
Solutions such as Business Intelligence and Cloud services support hospitals to become empowered: to better understand operational realities, identify areas for focused improvement, build efficiency gains and make decisions with all the information available. With its consultative approach, Agfa HealthCare can help healthcare providers of any size maximize their resources and optimize performance and financial objective.

To empower patients, the Agfa HealthCare Portal offers tools to make patients full partners in their own care and to organize coordination along the complete care continuum, inside and outside the hospital.

Image processing and dose optimization
Agfa HealthCare's MUSICA software supports Agfa HealthCare's commitment to ALARA, keeping patient radiation doses "As Low As Reasonably Achievable". Enhancements to the latest generation MUSICA include no need to adjust window level and a balanced presentation of different tissue structures for comfortable reading.

The recent Frost & Sullivan report "Raising the Bar by Lowering the Dose" shows that Agfa HealthCare's DR solutions offer real advantages in the three critical pillars of image quality, lower radiation dose and improved workflows for enhanced productivity.

And Agfa HealthCare's Dose Monitoring Solution, which now includes Qaelum's tqm|DOSETM* for patient radiation dose monitoring, analysis and improvement in digital imaging, is also being used by hospitals to meet their dose management needs.

DR 600: state-of-the-art automation, design and integration
Fully automated, state-of-the-art, multi-detector, high-productivity and high-throughput - the digital DR 600 X-ray room streamlines workflow, increases throughput and enhances the experience of both patients and caregivers. Automation, auto-positioning and auto-tracking allow light, fast and easy operation, while a choice of fixed, tethered and wireless detectors with Cesium Iodide (CsI) or Gadolinium Oxy-Sulphide (GOS) technology provides flexibility. CsI also offers the potential for dose reduction[1].

DX-D 100 with FreeView: mobile imaging excellence, enhanced mobility
FreeView technology makes Agfa HealthCare's mobile DX-D 100 even more maneuverable. It combines full mobility and better navigation with an unobstructed view, plus Agfa HealthCare's gold-standard MUSICA image processing, for high-quality imaging on the go: in intensive care units (ICUs), emergency departments, operating rooms or at the bedside. The collapsible telescopic arm enables better navigation through corridors, around the patient's bed or ward, etc.

"Building on the solid foundation of Agfa HealthCare's 100+ years of experience, we are keeping our finger firmly on the pulse of customers' needs, and finding innovative ways to meet them," says Grant Witheridge, Managing Director UK & Ireland, Agfa HealthCare. "Whether it is enterprise imaging, digital radiography, hospital IT or integrated care, we have a range of solutions and products that can help the healthcare organization shape the future of its care delivery."

1. Testing with board-certified radiologists has determined that Cesium Bromide (CR) and Cesium Iodide (DR) Detectors, when used with MUSICA image processing, can provide dose reductions between 50 to 60%, compared to traditional Barium Fluoro Bromide CR systems.
