Call for Startup Pitch Day @ Villeroy & Boch

The Startup Pitch Day is a competition to identify innovative Startups with the aim of creating potential cooperation with Villeroy & Boch Innovations GmbH. Therefore 10 startups are invited to the Villeroy & Boch Startup Pitch Day on 26th August 2019 in Mettlach.

Every company has the opportunity to present their business model within the framework of a short pitch and to answer questions from the jury and the audience. At the end the winners will be rewarded not only with cash and non-cash prizes but also a cooperation with the Villeroy & Boch Innovations GmbH. Besides our investment team will review cooperation and participation options with every participating startup.

Villeroy & Boch Innovations GmbH is a holding company of the Villeroy & Boch AG which invests into startup companies. Villeroy & Boch is looking for young companies whose products and solutions strategically fit in its core business in the areas of tableware as well as of bathroom and wellness (further details on the business units can be found here: https://www.villeroyboch-group.com/en.html). Specifically, your startup should be active in the following search fields:

  • Digital / Connected products (e.g. in the sanitary area)
  • E-Commerce (New customer interfaces, platforms, communities)
  • Ceramics & other material areas
  • Manufacturing process (e.g. ceramic 3D-print)
and should be dealing with up-to-date trend topics like eHealth, nutrition, fitness, lifestyle and technology. Villeroy & Boch Innovations GmbH is preferably investing into early to mid-stage-startups, which can offer a first MVP.

Course of the Startup Pitch Day

In the following you will find detailed information about the Startup Pitch Day agenda on 26th August 2019 in Mettlach as well as on the individual steps of the selection procedure and the corresponding time periods.

Application and selection procedure until the Startup Pitch Day:

Phase 1: Application phase (From 1st June 2019 until 31st July 2019)

The startup teams must apply via the application form on this website until 31st July 2019 (see below).

Phase 2: Selection of Pitch Day participants (Start of August)

After an examination by an internal V&B jury the most promising startup teams will be pre-selected and invited to the Startup Pitch Day by email.

Phase 3: Agenda of the Startup Pitch Day on the day competition day itself (26th August 2019)

Phase 4: Announcement of the winner and prizes

The winners of the Startup Pitch Day are selected by an expert jury. Those three winners, who will be selected from all applicants, will receive the prize money.

Furthermore every team receives a small giveaway for their participation. In addition the investment team reviews cooperation and participation options with each participating startup.
